Glen Moore Celebrates 25 Years of Growth [05.27.2011]
Since its incorporation 25 years ago on May 27, 1986, Glen Moore has moved more than 41 billion pounds of goods across more than 1 billion miles of roadway during approximately 1.7 million trips throughout the United States.
Glen Moore began operations in Carlisle, Pa., hauling heavy equipment to job sites on flatbed equipment. Dry van equipment was added to the fleet for transporting general merchandise on contracted business. Today, Glen Moore is one of the country's leaders in dry freight truckload van shipping, providing service to retailers, manufacturers and the government.
"Over the last 25 years, we added hundreds of customers, close to a thousand employees, two thousand trailers and a wide range of sophisticated technologies," said Gary Pruden, Glen Moore president. "We expanded our geographic footprint from the Northeast and now reach from coast to coast. Through all this, we have stayed consistent to our core principles of safety, service and a culture of integrity and respect to our customers and to each other."
Glen Moore was the recent recipient of the Mattel 2010 Truckload Carrier of the Year award and two "Mattel Team 100" service awards. In addition, for the third time in four years, readers of Logistics Management magazine recognized Glen Moore with the 2010 Quest for Quality award, ranking the company as the No. 1 Dry Freight Truckload Carrier and scoring it highest among all dry freight truckload carriers in the individual categories of on-time performance and customer service.
